| Description: Taken from a piano setting, this light-hearted dance offers many opportunities for developing staccato style with on/off string bowings. Harry Alshin has arranged for everyone to have a chance at the melody, and the colorful dynamic and tempo changes offer interesting musical challenges at any level for each instrument. The counter-melodies in the second violin party make it, at times, more challenging that the violin part. Along with divisi first violins, the expanded scoring allows for greater programming and teaching flexibility. This accessible string arrangement of such a well-known tune is a welcome addition to your library. |
