| Description: Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tschaikowsky wrote his sixth symphony during the last year of his life. The sixth is said to be Tschaikowsky's greatest symphony, as well as his most popular; it is also the most celebrated symphony in all Russian music. Tschiakowsky said in a letter to his publisher, 'On my word of honor, never in all my life have I been so satisfied, so proud, so happy in the knowledge that I have written a good work.' |
