| Description: This composition is ideal for either full or string orchestra. Mars Hill is named for the hill in Flagstaff, AZ where the Lowell Observatory stands. The observatory was built in 1894 with the intention of viewing the planet Mars. The music opens with a sense of awe and wonder while gazing into the universe. It expresses the movement of the celestial bodies and man's attempts to travel through space. Special interdisciplinary studies are included. |
