Composer and string educator, Susan Day currently resides in Littleton, Colorado and has performed as a violinist with the Arapahoe Symphony Philharmonic for over twenty years. Currently a string educator at Cresthill Middle School and Eagle Ridge Elementary in Douglas County, Ms. Day received the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) 'Outstanding Colorado Teacher of the Year Award' in 2000. Her successful middle school orchestra has also received high accolades performing seven times at state and national music conventions across the country.

Known for her contributions to educational string music, Ms. Day's original compositions have attracted national attention with convention performances at the National Association for Music Education (MENC), the Colorado Music Educator's Association (CMEA), the Midwest Band/Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, and at numerous national and local honor orchestras, festivals, and contests. Her piece, Tango d'Amour, was the winner of the 2006 Texas Orchestra Directors' Association (TODA) composition competition.

Ms. Day's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Ithaca College, and Master of Arts degree in Music Education from Columbia University in New York, where she studied piano and jazz improvisation. She holds memberships in many national music education organizations, and was inducted in to the Colorado Music Educators Association (CMEA) Hall of Fame in 2008.
